About us

Nexus  have been offering businesses in Hull an  alternative call package for over  10 years and have now agreed a  ground breaking deal with Kingston  Communications to supply not only  call services but also lines and broadband. Nexus were the first company  to offer line services in 2009 and have  to date  transferred in the region of 3000 lines. In 2011 Nexus added broadband services to their portfolio offering a choice of 5 packages.

Nexus have worked with many key partners in Hull over the last 10 years and have selected 2 to exclusively offer their services to their existing customers and the wider market – Cobus Communications and Apollo.

The Hull telecoms market has been restricted over the last decade due to the incumbent network holding the monopoly. Many companies have tried to enter the Hull telecoms market but as the investment required is substantial and the entire area only represents 2% of the UK market many have been unsuccessful.

In the late 90’s it became possible to  apply a  prefix code before dialling to route calls via another provider, this was a  popular alternative for many years but the service was unreliable and dependent upon either physically prefixing whilst dialling or on call routing  equipment which was very simple and prone to faults. Although in more recent years the equipment improved it still only allowed customers to choose their call provider, they still  had to buy the line from the incumbent KC.

In 2009 Nexus struck a ground breaking deal with Kingston Communications to resell their line services. As a wholesale provider Nexus could buy lines from KC at a reduced cost and pass on those savings to the end user.  This allowed Nexus to offer two things, firstly cost savings and secondly and perhaps more importantly choice. For the first time in over 100 years a business customer in Hull could choose to buy their line and call  services from someone other than Kingston Communications.

In 2011 Nexus have continued to  develop their relationship with Kingston and have added broadband services to their portfolio. Nexus are the first and only company to be able to offer all three critical business services. Nexus can provide all three products at reduced rates when compared to KC’s retail price, Nexus can bill all three services on the same bill and also provide a complete customer service experience and access to additional products such as mobile, Inbound  Numbering and fax 2 email to name but a  few.
